Message from Rinpoche …. 2010
Dear Sangha Friends,
As always, I have truly enjoyed my time in Hong Kong with all of you, both in formal and informal gatherings that we have had.
I am honored and delighted to have had this opportunity to contribute my service of presenting Vajrayana Buddhism at Hong Kong University. I truly appreciate all the hard work of the leadership of the Buddhist Studies Department. Because of their vision and diligence, we all have had this opportunity to share and learn the profound dharma of the three yanas.
I would especially like to thank my (NB) students here in HK who were so kind and worked tirelessly towards making my stay here comfortable and meaningful.
The greatest joy that I experience is when we engage in the three wheels of study, meditation, and action. My students here have given me this joy, and I send my prayers and blessings that your engagement in the three wheels will continue to grow here in Hong Kong.
I was bugged continuously by Anita Ho to come here. Because of that, my visit here has materialized. So I’d like to thank Anita, a great friend and student, for your kindness and devotion for the lineage.
In Vajrayana Buddhism, it is important for us to know each other and have a close, personal connection. That is not possible to achieve only through formal meetings. Therefore, we must look back in the history of the teacher-student relationship and explore different avenues through which we can achieve this. Engaging in the wheel of activity, such as working on projects or driving together is another way of exploring this connection. Most of you have taken this opportunity and I am so grateful for all your support and time. At this point I could say I know most of my students here pretty well, but there are still some newer students I need to get to know better.
Please keep this in your mind and may we have the courage and wisdom to embark on the path of genuine dharma wholeheartedly. May you all have good health, success in your virtuous works, and happiness. May we all meet together in the true mandala of rigpa beyond time.
Love and prayers — dpr
